The PESO Managers and Job Placement Officers

Davao Region - The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office XI conducted an “Orientation on Labor Market Information Analysis and Report Writing Training” at The Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang, Davao City last January 30 to February 01, 2020. 

The activity was aimed to optimize the employment facilitation service facility of the PESO (Public Employment Service Office) and to capacitate DOLE Personnel, PESO Managers, and Job Placement Officers (JPOs) in the interpretation and analysis of employment figures, reports, and data collected within the region. 

This is also to continuously ensure the effective and efficient deployment of DOLE employment facilitation services particularly on Labor Market Information through enriching the capacities of personnel and partners.  

The resource speakers invited to empower were Mr. Fercy B. Cavan, Statistician and Environmental Planner, and Dr. Sherwin S. Fortugaliza, Senior Research Specialist who had discussed and facilitated the workshop about the Labor Market Information: Inputs for Strategic Planning and Policy Act, while Mr. Raul Vincent W. Lumapas, ADDU Department Chair of the Information Technology Department discussed on Data Privacy Act. 

In welcome message, DOLE XI TSSD OIC-Chief Paul V. Cruz said, “This activity would ensure efficient employment facilitation service facility from the PESOs and JPOs in the grassroot level especially on Labor Market Information (LMI) which describes the interaction between the supply and demand for labor in the market. This would help them interpret on gathered data on how a labor market is functioning and be able to identify available labor resources and employment opportunities.” (By Jeremae Allean P.
