DOLE presented plan for ELCAC

DOLE Davao de Oro Chief Neil Allan R. Baban presented DOLE's ELCAC intervention plan to the local government officials of  Davao de Oro (above) and Davao City (below).

Davao Region – In support of Executive Order 70 also known as the whole-of-nation approach of President Duterte in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace which aims to end local communist armed conflict,  the Regional Task Force in the Davao Region met on February 17, 2020, in Davao City to layout plans. 

The Department of Labor and Employment XI represented by RD Raymundo G. Agravante and DOLE Davao de Oro Chief Neil Allan R. Baban joined in the workshop and presented the Department’s plan on intervention through its DILP (DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program), and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD). The priority areas that will benefit the DOLE Programs will be the barangays that need the soonest intervention as identified by the regional task force. 

Chief Baban presented to all provincial stakeholders that DOLE’s intervention, especially on TUPAD, will start in April of this year while the livelihood projects shall be proposal-based and must emanate from the barangay. He added that DOLE’s Government Internship Program (GIP) will also be available to the identified barangays. 

RD Agravante said that on top of the ELCAC fund that will be given to DOLE, the Department will continue delivering and serving all its programs to the constituents in Region XI. 

The workshop which was held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel was attended by governors, mayors, barangay officials, stakeholders from the local government units and the national government agencies. (By Eduardo P. Monreal, LCO-Designate, DOLE XI)
