Agravante graces Colosas graduation rites

Davao Region – Extending immediate intervention to affected communities under the E.O. 70 which is also known as the “End Local Communist Armed Conflict”, the 89th Infantry Battalion stationed in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte together with TESDA, the Rizal Memorial Colleges, and the Barangay Council of Colosas, Paquibato District, this city, trained fifty-one (51) women on Baking and Pastries Production (27 graduates), and Cookery (24 graduates). All graduates given with NC II Certificates were from Sitio Panaga, Brgy. Colosas, Paquibato District, this city. The area was once a rebel stronghold.  


In his inspirational message, DOLE XI Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante announced that “With the new skills you have earned, DOLE will be extending to you graduates the equipment that you will need in starting your business. Our DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) is for every Filipino that needs assistance. Be united. Form your group into an association, register with the Department so that we can facilitate the fast delivery of the materials.”


Charisse Montero, a graduate said, “Nalipay gyod mi pag-ayo sa training nga gihatag namo, Sir. Sa una, Dili gyod ko kabalo moluto. Karon, klase-klase na nga pagluto akong nahibaw-an. Misamot pa gyod among kalipay pag-announce ni Director Agravante sa DOLE nga hatagan mi niyag equipment ug initial nga puhonan. Lamdag na among kaugmaon, Sir." The graduation rites took place on February 19, 2020 at the covered court of Sitio Panaga, Colosas, Paquibato District, this city. (By Eduardo P.
