DAVAO CITY – On 16 February 2020, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-XI (RTWPB-XI), represented by Ruby A. Badilles, Sharon Grace S. Sanoy, and Jessielee R. Bilog, attended the 7th Araw ng Kasambahay celebration held at the Garden Oases Convention Center, Porras Street, Davao City.

The 7th Araw ng Kasambahay was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE-XI) with assistance from the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-XI (RTWPB-XI), Department of Education-XI (DEPED-XI), Department of Interior and Local Government-XI (DILG-XI), Philippine Information Agency-XI (PIA-XI), Department of Social Welfare and Development XI (DSWD-XI), Technical Education and Skills Authority-XI (TESDA-XI), Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Liga ng mga Barangay.  The celebration was held to recognize the invaluable help of our kasambahays and for them to have a day of learning, fun and relaxation.

During the celebration, the kasambahays were inspired by the success story shared by Mr. Apoleyo F. Torrefranca who used to be a kasambahay but is now a Social Security Officer III of SSS. The participants were also oriented on their rights and benefits as kasambahay by Ms. Editrudes L. Cabiles, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE-XI, by Ms. Greta Fe M. Quayle, Senior Analyst/ADHOC Senior Communication Analyst of SSS and by Ms. Maridee C. Dela Cerna, Supervising Marketing Specialist of Pag-IBIG Fund.

Other activities during the celebration were raffle draws and games such as a TALA Dance Challenge, Trip to Jerusalem and Pass the Message.  There were also free services offered in the venue such as massage, haircut, manicure and pedicure which the participants may avail.  The 7th Araw ng Kasambahay culminated with the holding of the first ever Ms. Kasambahay.

Overall, the conduct of the 7th Araw ng Kasamabahay was a rousing success. (RTWPB XI)
