Newly elected OFC officers take oath

Newly elected officers of Brgy. Magsaysay OFW Family Circle (OFC) took their oath last February 12, 2020 with Brgy. Kagawad Rodanie Espiritu as the Induction Officer. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Social Hall of Brgy. Magsaysay, Marilog District, Davao City. 

Brgy. Magsaysay OFW Family Circle was organized by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) – Regional Welfare Office XI on January 30, 2020 with twenty-three (23) members who are OFW returnees and families. To be updated on the programs and services of OWWA, Family Welfare Officer Albert Salazar conducted an orientation on the same day. He discussed the core programs which are; social benefits, education and training assistance, workers welfare assistance program, social services and family welfare services, and reintegration program. He likewise discussed the importance of organizing the OFWs and their families in the locality. 

The newly elected officers were: Zenaida Ticong (President); Rolai Mansi (Vice-President); Rowena Traya (Secretary); Rudabie Espiritu (Treasurer); Elizabeth Engay (Auditor); Ronalled Bacalso (P.I.O.); Ailyn Oboc (Business Manager); Endrequita Garciano, Rosalinda Borja, Ligaya Nogan, Cornelio Amora, Eufemia Supot, and Julie Mansi (Board of Directors). The officers will take the lead in the implementation of OWWA programs and services in the locality. FWO Salazar likewise explained the roles and responsibilities of each officer to make the organization stable and productive. 

Brgy. Chairman Rolando Mansi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to OWWA for organizing the OFWs and their families in his barangay. “We are honored that our barangay is one of the recipients of OWWA’s programs and services. Rest assured that the Council will support whatever plans and projects that the organization will undertake,” said Brgy. Chairman Mansi. 

Elected President Zenaida Ticong, on the other hand, was grateful to be updated on the various programs and services of OWWA. She felt glad that she will be able to help the other OFW families through the OFC formed. She said that, as the elected President, she will perform her duties for the betterment of the organization. Ticong is a former domestic worker in Saudi Arabia. (OWWA)
