Malita, Davao Occidental โ€“ The Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region conducted a workshop on Managing Peopleโ€™s Organization for police officers in Brgy. Kidapalong yesterday.

In coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office XI โ€“ Davao Occidental Provincial Office, personnel from DOLE Davao Occidental discussed community organizing and Registration of Workers Association (RWA) requirements to 45 police officers who will be assigned in different barangays within Davao Occidental.

The said activity forms part of PNPโ€™s Pulis sa Barangay mission and intervention to ensure that government services will reach geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said, โ€œthis is one good strategy for us to reach our geographically disadvantaged workers in the region. We are grateful for our partner agencies like the PNP for including RWA in their community intervention.โ€

DOLE Davao Occidental Provincial Head Arce D. Sinajon also expressed his appreciation to PNPโ€™s efforts to assist the far flung areas in organizing or reactivating existing associations.

In his message, Davao Occidental Police Lieutenant Colonel Resty O. Valmores emphasized the importance of community organizing as part of their intervention.

He also extended his gratitude to DOLE for responding to their request and looks forward to more future collaborations with DOLE.
