Kiblawan, Davao del Sur โ€“ The Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region recently awarded โ‚ฑ1M to farmersโ€™ cooperative as 1st tranche of the livelihood assistance.

DOLE Davao Assistant Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy and DOLE Davao del Sur Chief Reynaldo Dennis V. Badilles awarded the check to the Pasig Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Upland Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PARBUF-MPC).

The members of PARBUF-MPC are composed of 80 women, 20 indigenous people, and 48 parents of profiled child laborers by DOLE Davao.

They will be implementing the livelihood project โ€œEstablishment of Domestic Sugar Trading Enterpriseโ€ worth โ‚ฑ1.5M as approved by DOLE.The said cooperative is also currently enrolled at DOLEโ€™s Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) program that monitors and ensures the progress of the beneficiariesโ€™ livelihood.

Moreover, the second tranche is scheduled to be released in the first semester of 2021.
