Magsaysay, Davao del Sur – The Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region recently awarded a check worth ₱949,000.00 to 157 farmer beneficiaries of LGU Magsaysay.

DOLE Davao del Sur Chief Reynaldo Dennis V. Badilles awarded the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) check to Magsaysay Municipal Mayor Arthur D. Davin.

The farmer beneficiaries were affected individuals during the series of earthquakes last 2019 and were identified with the help of the National Housing Authority (NHA).

In line with LGU Magsaysay’s relocation plan for the farmers, they were tasked to clear the relocation site and build and disinfect their own homes from December 28, 2020 up to January 14, 2021.

DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said, “DOLE’s TUPAD covers a wide range of assistance to our beneficiaries which aims for their sustainability. We are hoping that these farmers could have a good start in their new homes.”
