A total of 1,285 NCCC Mall fire victim employees and their families who have availed of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI 30-day Emergency Employment Program (EEP) have already received their salaries.
The series of payouts was conducted last March 7, 14, 15, and 28 wherein the beneficiaries enrolled under the program received a total of P10,200 each for their days worked. Another schedule of payout will be conducted for the remaining EEP beneficiaries this May.
Employees covered under this assistance are NCCC Mall regular employees, tenants, agency hired workers and has recently began accepting SSI beneficiaries as well.
It can be recalled that DOLE XI conducted series of orientations last January and February for the 30-day EEP.
The assistance provided is under Labor Advisory No. 1, Series of 2018 signed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III which directs DOLE XI to immediately provide emergency employment assistance to the NCCC Mall fire incident affected employees and also to the families of the 38 who perished during the incident.
The Labor Advisory also states that in case the affected workers “do not want or cannot engage in TUPAD community projects, their qualified immediate family members or relatives” can avail of the program on their behalf provided that they will submit the required documents.
