Since it is the season of giving, 18 children have been treated once again with advance presents under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI Project Angel Tree sponsored by Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) and INCOME Davao.

The children gathered by Kaugmaon Foundation Inc., were accompanied by DLPC employees for a day of shopping spree and arcade fun last December 21, 2016 at SM City Davao.

This is DLPC and INCOME’s third year of sponsoring the Department’s Project Angel Tree under their “Kaibigan Gives Back” outreach program.

The children beneficiaries coming from Panacan, Tibungco and Sasa areas, aging 12-16 years old, were treated with a shopping spree worth P4,000 and groceries for Noche Buena.

Smile and laughter filled the children’s faces as they played and shopped together with their Kuyas and Ates from DLPC who served as their “angels.”

Project Angel Tree is an activity under the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program which aims to build a community of sponsors or benefactors referred to as “angels” who are committed and supportive in providing social services such as food, clothing, educational assistance, and even work and training opportunities to children at risk to become child laborers and their families.
