Davao City – In a report submitted to Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, JobFair was among the major accomplishments highlighted.  As of June 2012, 25 job fairs were conducted which generated 2,457 hired on the spot (HOTS).

In the recently held Mid-year Planning and Assessment of the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. XI,  Regional Director Joffrey Suyao disclosed that more than half of  the target for 2012 has already been accomplished.

Labor Day and Kalayaan Job Fairs were among the biggest job fairs conducted.  Applicants registered during the May 1-2 , 2012 activity totaled 9,500.  143 companies participated with 30, 139 vacancies solicited.  Of these,  1, 218 were hired on the spot  (hots) and 2, 903 applicants were scheduled for final interview.  On the other hand, Kalayaan Job Fair was able to gather 4,635 registrants and 913 of them were HOTS.  There were 154 companies that participated. Vacancies available  accounted for 32, 167. Other job fairs conducted were initiated by the Local Government Units-Public Employment Service Office  and Private Institutions.

In both activities, DOLE- Regional Coordinating Committees and other government stakeholders were present to provide employment services and assistance to the jobseekers and the public.
