Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental – Affected by days of heavy rains causing flashfloods, landslides, erosions and siltation brought by Tropical Depression Amang in January 2019, two hundred fifty-five (255) individuals from nineteen (19) barangays in the municipality of Governor Generoso became beneficiaries of DOLE’s Emergency Program (EEP).
The work for ten (10) days include basic repairs of public infrastructure such as schools, barangay halls, health centers; economic community projects such as repair or rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads, roadside clearing, de-clogging of drainage canals; agro-forestry and environmental protection projects such as tree planting, coastal clean-up, seedling preparation and construction of flood control measures.
Atty. Jason P. Balais, DOLE XI OIC-Asst. Regional Director, in his message said, “The wages you received will help you out especially on basic needs. So, spend it wisely for your families.”
The cash-for-work activity was aimed to provide temporary relief for the victims of the natural calamity. The EEP Payout for the 255 beneficiaries costed P997,920.00.
