Davao City – The Employees’ Compensation Commission granted Russel M. Sardido a Twenty Thousand Peso worth of starter kit for Piso Wifi Vendo business on April 30, 2019 at ECC Regional Extension Unit XI in Davao City. The grant was in pursuance with the ECC’s mandate to restore the economic productivity of every worker who becomes occupationally disabled after falling victims of work-related contingencies.
Mr. Sardido, a former Account Specialist of United Steeltech Technology Int’l. Corporation, met a vehicular accident on January 8, 2015 while conducting a site visit at Digos City resulting to a severe panbrachial plexus injury.
Prior to this grant, he was able to avail of the EC sickness, partial disability, Free Physical Therapy and Livelihood Training of which all the expenses are shouldered by ECC.
“The EC Programs has been so instrumental to my recovery both physically and economically after the accident.”, said Mr. Sardido during the release of the starter kits. He added that the grant will help him make his families ends meet especially that he has children studying.
Under the Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan (Kagabay) program of ECC, an occupationally disabled worker may avail of a particular business of his choice providing an opportunity to continually sustain the needs of the family despite the possible loss of his job resulting from his disability.
