October 27, 2015, The Department of Labor and Employment thru the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) held the 2015 National Livelihood Summit at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, Manila. The highlight of the activity was the awarding of the 2015 National Best DOLE Assisted Livelihood Project for Group and Individual categories.  It was conducted to sustain the gains out of the livelihood assistance and recognize beneficiaries’ effort for successfully managing their projects.  The BWSC institutionalized this  annual search starting this year 2015.

DOLE ROXI’s Regional Winner and nominee to the National Level for Group Category which is the ADAP (Association of Differently-Abled Persons) Multi-Purpose Cooperative represented  by Ms. Alicia M. Fabiaña, Project Manager, for their Furniture and Wrought Iron Forming projects got the highest award and was recognized  as the 2015 National Best DOLE Assisted Livelihood Project (Group Category).  Moreover, the Region’s nominee to the National Level for Individual Category was the Hog Raising project of Ms. Jackie Lou S. Daray, a former OFW from New Corella, Davao del Norte.

Ms. Fabiaña received the Plaques of Recognition and monetary award of P 50,000.00 for being the Regional Winner and an additional  P 100,000.00 for being the National Winner. Also, Ms. Daray, received a Plaque of Recognition and monetary incentive of P 30,000.00 for being the Regional Nominee.

“Simula noong kami ay naging beneficiaries ng DOLE livelihood programs ay umasenso ang aming buhay. Nakita namin ang aming nakatagong kakayahan sa pag negosyo. Dahil sa karangalan na binigay niyo sa amin, pag ibayuhin pa namin ang aming pagsisikap upang lalong mapalago ang aming negosyo at sa gayon kami ay makapag bigay trabaho sa unemployed PWDs and able-bodied ” says Ms. Fabiaña in her speech.

Ms. Daray likewise said “Maraming salamat po sa DOLE. Malaking tulong po sa akin itong karangalang binigay ninyo. Ang nataggap kong P 30,000.00 ay gamitin kong pangdagdag puhunan upang dumami pa ang aking mga alagang baboy”.

A Livelihood Exhibit was likewise held as part of the summit. Various products of the country’s DILP ( DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program ) beneficiaries were simultaneously showcased as part of the advocacy and marketing strategy.

Davao City PESO Manager, Ms. Lilibeth Pantinople and New Corella PESO Manager Edgar Allan Vale as well as Regional Dir. Joffrey M. Suyao also received a Certificate of Recognition for their untiring support to the DILP beneficiaries.
