Laak, ComVal Province – Barbers, manicure and pedicure service workers, barbecue vendors, “kakanin” vendors, “halo-halo” vendors and a group of women who specializes on tee shirt printing received P1,426,500 grant from the Department of Labor and Employment on August 16, 2019 in a turnover ceremony at the Municipal Hall of Laak, Compostela Valley Province.

DOLE XI Regional Director thanked Laak Mayor Antonio Libuangan and the LGU of the municipality in partnering with DOLE in the implementation of livelihood projects in the area.

RD Agravante encouraged the beneficiaries by announcing that DOLE has a yearly contest on best livelihood project which has individual and group categories. He said that the 2018 winner on the individual category is from Pigcawayan, North Cotabato who in two years was able to purchase nine (9) sewing machines and hire ten (10) regular sewers.
