Effective May 1, 2012, minimum wage earners in Davao Region will receive a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) of P10.00 per day in addition to the existing P5.00 COLA as the second tranche of wage adjustment under Wage Order No. RB XI-17.

The additional P10.00 COLA will bring the daily minimum wage level in the region from P260.00 – P291 to P270.00 – P301.00.

Under Wage Order No. RB XI-17, the non-agricultural workers and those employed in the retail and service establishment with more than ten workers will receive P301.00 per day consisting of a basic pay of P286.00 and an aggregate COLA of P15.00.  The workers in the agriculture sector will get P291.00 per day (basic wage of P276.00 plus P15.00 COLA) while those belonging to the retail and service establishment with less than ten workers will receive a daily rate of P270.00 (P255.00 basic wage plus P15.00 COLA).

The prescribed wage rates under Wage Order No. RB XI-17 shall apply to all workers and employees in the private sector receiving the minimum wage in Davao Region, regardless of their position, designation or status of employment, and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.

The  first tranche of wage adjustment under Wage Order No. RB XI-17, which granted a  COLA integration and a P5.00 COLA per day, took effect last January 1, 2012.
