Statement Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz
Declining her nomination by PALSCON to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
“I have been informed that the Philippine Association of Local Service Contractors (PALSCON), the nationwide organization of legitimate local service contractors partnering with the DOLE in the implementation of D.O. 18-A, the reform measure that squarely addresses the issue of sub-contracting and its modern-day variant, the so-called 5-5-5, or 6-6-6, or “ENDO”, for end of contract, has submitted my name to the Judicial and Bar Council as a nominee for the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
“I decline the PALSCON nomination even as I am humbled by its gesture. I am thankful for its generous and voluntary demonstration of trust and confidence in my person and my capacity.
“I have work to do as Secretary of Labor and Employment. This is to see to it that the labor and employment agenda of H.E. President Benigno S. Aquino III is realized, and to ensure that our reform measures on labor governance borne out of the agenda are set firmly in place and nurtured to bear the fruit of inclusive growth for all Filipinos.
“This is what I intend to continue to faithfully do.
