Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte – With the active partnership of DOLE Davao del Norte Field Office and Public Employment Service Office (PESO), twelve (12) Negosyo sa Kariton (Negokart) worth P18,490 each were given to the ambulant vendors, this city.

Samal PESO Manager, Florencio Thaddeus T. Valera said during the awarding ceremony that they have already identified a place for these vendors where they can display their products more accessible to the people.

DOLE-Davao del Norte Field Office Head, Angelina A. Talingting in her message to the beneficiaries said, “I am encouraging you all to be responsible stewards of these carts to help increase your profits.” Through this assistance, Ms. Talingting said that as part of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), this will contribute to the reduction of poverty and increase economic growth in the city.

Before the turnover took place, Ms. Talingting together with Mr. Francis Dominique Y. Nazario, DOLE Samal Satellite Office Head, Livelihood Focal Person Lalaine M. Apugan, and Dyanarha P. Lavadia, Child Labor Program Community Facilitator met with Mayor Al David Uy to present the accomplishments of the ongoing programs and services and discuss the projects to be implemented. (By Dyanarha P.
