The Collapsible Dryer Case II is one of the two equipment requested by the association as part of its corn shelling and drying project. The corn sheller was awarded to the association last November 3, 2020. The project focuses on catering post-harvest processing of corn using advanced technology to cater the demands of farm households in Brgy. Tambobong. With the Collapsible Dryer Case II, the farmers can effectively and conveniently dry their crops while minimizing the post-harvest losses and operational expenses. This technology uses solar energy, the simplest and most economical drying method.
This project benefits 50 members of LHFA composed of farmers growing corn, rice, cacao, and banana.
DOLE Davao Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said, “The agriculture industry is greatly affected by the global health crisis. This project with LHFA is one of our several projects in the pipeline to help and support our farmers and their families during these trying times.”
Ms. Erlinda Mamitag, DOLE DCFO Chief added, “We are truly glad for we have been instruments in providing extra income to our beneficiaries. It is our hope that through this project, the beneficiaries and their families are now a step closer in improving their lives.”
