The Department of Labor and Employment XI virtually celebrated the 9th Araw ng Kasambahay with the theme, Kasambahay: Katuwang Laban sa Pandemya, Katuwang sa Kaligtasan, at Kalusugan ng Pamilya, honoring thehard work and efforts of kasambahays especially during the pandemic.

The annual celebration was a concerted effort of Davao Region’s Tulong Alalay Sa Kaunlaran (TASK) ng Kasambahay. The TASK Kasambahay composed of the Department of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE) as the chair, Technical Education Skills Development Authority XI (TESDA), Department of Social Welfare and Development XI (DSWD), Department of the Interior and Local Government XI (DILG), Department of Education XI (DepEd), Home Development Mutual Fund XI (HDMF), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board XI (RTWPB), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation XI (PHIC), Social Security System Davao Region (SSS), Philippine Information Agency XI (PIA), San Pedro College (SPC), Liga Ng Barangay – Davao City.

During the program, DOLE XI OIC-Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy highlighted the importance of every kasambahay in every household. “There is no barrier that could hinder us from preparing and engaging this celebration for all of you. The TASK Kasambahay Team has prepared a colorful program for you today, including among others capacity building lectures, and of course, it will be spiced up with contests, raffles, and games with corresponding prizes.” RD Pensoy said.

The celebration also featured talks and presentations on Kasambahay Law by DOLE XI, coping with pandemic by DOH XI, Universal Health Care by PhilHealth XI, and Blended Learning Modalities by DepEd XI.
