Davao City – The Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region spearheaded the conduct of the second Human Resource Practitioners and DOLE Forum via Zoom. A total of 110 HR Practitioners representing 70 different establishments in the region were present during the said forum.

DOLE Davao Assistant Regional Director Randolf Pensoy, during his opening remarks, put emphasis on the vital role of Human Resource personnel as “mediator” between the Employee and the Employer. “Because of the particular job delegated to us, we maintain also that we can be a person of which the employee would be properly given importance and voice; of which the employer could delegate as well as communicate well through us who are co-employers with particular department/agencies”, he remarked.
During the said forum, DOLE Davao Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo, CESO expressed her gratitude to the HR participants and provided the rationale. She added that, “This monthly HR Forum is open to all since we would like to cater the need for information particularly on the latest issuances from DOLE, SSS, Pag-IBIG, and others.”RD Domingo further encouraged everyone to actively participate and to provide feedback and suggestions for the improvement of the succeeding HR forums.
Some of the highlights of the forum were the discussion of DOLE Department Order No. 214-20: Guidelines on Processes and Proceedings Before the Secretary of Labor and Employment, Bureaus and Regional Offices in Areas Under Community Quarantine and DO224-21: Guidelines on Ventilation for Workplaces and Public Transport to Prevent and Control the Spread of Covid-19. Speakers from SSS and Pag-IBIG also shared their updates and latest issuances particularly on the programs and services offered in this time of pandemic.
During the open forum, SSS, Pag-IBIG speakers joined forces to shed some light on concerns and questions raised by the HR Participants. The discourse, particularly on loans, employment, maternity and sickness benefits particularly on maternity and sickness benefits in this pressing times, was comprehensive and informative.
DOLE Davao is certainly looking forward to invite more participants and to consistently solicit inputs from the distinguished speakers from the respective government offices for the upcoming monthly HR Forum.
