
Malita, Davao Occidental – On June 10, 2021, the DOLE-Davao Occidental Field Office (DOcFO) provided orientation on DOLE programs to 37 former rebels in the municipality of Malita, in line with efforts of the government to help the vulnerable sector, specifically the former rebels.
In the Livelihood Assessment and Skills Profiling activity organized by the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office of Davao Occidental, the DOLE-DOcFO highlighted the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Program (DILEEP) and the Registration of Workers Association (RWA) as some of the programs that could help them build a new and reassuring life.
In his message during the activity, Engr. Arce D. Sinajon, Acting Provincial Head of DOLE-DOcFO, emphasized that DOLE is dedicated in helping these former rebels attain a sustainable livelihood after they ended their arm struggle.
Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo added that orientations to government initiatives and efforts is a fundamental step as we express our support to former rebels in their transition back to the fold and embrace a new life.
The said activity was in support of the implementation of the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) led by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
