Davao City – “It’s official!  We are on our way to having our management system certified as ISO compliant,” said Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao after the DOLE Davao Region management team signed the QMS manuals, which was witnessed by the entire DOLE-XI personnel. The signing was the highlight of the annual Team Building Exercise conducted at the Pinnacle Hotel on August 20, 2013.

“The QMS manuals are pre-requisites in implementing a quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. It is not just the top management’s commitment, but the commitment of each and everyone in our office to pursue the establishment of Quality Management System based on ISO standards, for DOLE Davao Region to be more efficient and effective in the delivery of our services to our clients,” Suyao added.  The Director emphasized that having a QMS in line with ISO standard gives an assurance of quality services to the customers of the DOLE. The results of services shall essentially satisfy both the DOLE personnel and the clients.

This project is in response to the call of Executive Order No.  605, which directs all government agencies to adopt ISO 9001:2008 and effect actual improvements in public governance to ensure consistency of products and services through quality processes.

Assistant Regional Director Venerando C. Cebrano, on the other hand, presented the roadmap and timelines of the upcoming ISO certification- related activities, emphasizing that the office is aiming to achieve the certification in time for the DOLE anniversary on December 8, 2013.
