Davao City – With the theme “Mayo Uno sa Bagong Panahon – Manggagawa at Mamamayan, Babangon, Susulong!”,  the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Davao Region is set to hold a virtual job fair on May 1, Labor Day with over 2,000 employment opportunities secured from 27 employers as of Tuesday, April 27.

Jobseekers are advised to regularly check the official Facebook page of DOLE-Davao for the complete list of vacancies and the link for online application.

Furthermore, DOLE-Davao Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo encourages jobseekers to carefully review the job qualifications and descriptions in identifying the positions that best fit them. Only shortlisted candidates from the pre-registration will be accommodated on the virtual job fair.

Simultaneously, Labor Day activities such as conduct of Mobile Service (Renewal of Licenses) Competency Assessment, programs and services on education/scholarship assistance, SO1 training, and workshop on the use of social platforms and digital technology among others will be administered via zoom as well.

DOLE-Davao’s Labor Day Job Fair is in partnership with DOLE-Regional Coordinating Council – the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board  (RTWPC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), and Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (RTIPC), Industrial Tripartite Councils (ITCs), and Malayan Colleges Mindanao.

The annual Labor Day job fair that is usually held in big venues will be conducted online due to stricter safety and health protocols in order to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
