The Public Employment Offices of Davao City and Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali in Davao del Norte were recognized as Champion in the Phil-Job.Net 2011 Vacancy Posting and Best PESO 2011 (4th-6th class Municipality Category), respectively, during the 11th National PESO Congress on October 5-7, 2011 at the Waterfront Hotel, Davao City.
The Public Service Employment Office of Davao City posted the highest number of job vacancies in the government job matching website www.phil-job.net for the period of November 2010 until September 2011. It was declared the champion, besting Quezon City, NCR (1st Runner-up) and Surigao City, CARAGA (2nd Runner up). Davao City PESO Manager Beth Pantinople received a trophy and a cash prize of P50,000.00.
The Municipality of Braulio Dujali in Davao del Norte also won for the 2nd straight year the Best PESO 2011 (4th-6th class Municiplaity Cate4gory), besting two (2) other Municipalities. PESO Manager Abel Pagatpat received the award and vowed to work harder this year as it vies for a grand slam win in the 2012 PESO Congress.
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz lead DOLE officials in recognizing the performing PESOs amongst the network of 1,756 PESOs nationwide. The Secretary said that “the PESO must continue to strengthen its function as the DOLE’s partner in facilitating accessible and responsive employment services which will address the Aquino government’s agenda of strengthening local employment, resolving job-skills mismatch and of pushing back unemployment”.
The other PESO Awardees are the Province of Pampanga (Best PESO 2011, 1st Class Province Category); Province of Sorsogon
(Best PESO 2011, 2nd class Province Category); Province of Abra (Best PESO 2011, 3rd class Province Category); Angeles City, Pampanga (Best PESO 2011, Highly Urbanized City Category); San Fernando, Pampanga (Best PESO 2011, Component City Category); General Trias, Cavite (Best PESO 2011, 1st-3rd class Municipal Category); De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, Cavite (Best PESO 2011, State Universities and Colleges/Non-government Organization/Community-based Organization Category). In the phil-job.net 2011 Applicant Registration Category, Batangas Province PESO was declared the Champion while Taguig City PESO and Laguna Province PESO were declared the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
