The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office XI (DOLE XI) together with members of Tulong Alay sa Kaunlaran ng Kasambahay (TASK Kasambahay) – an inter-agency convergence team composed of Social Security System (SSS), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Liga ng mga Barangay Davao City and San Pedro College (SPC) conducted the 3rd Kasambahay Day celebration last January 31, 2015 at San Pedro College.

The activity was participated in by 150 Kasambahays who are enrolled in the Alternative Learning System- Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS-A&E) of DepEd.  The celebration was dubbed as Kasambahay Fun Day, wherein the kasambahays showed off their talents in singing and dancing. They also enjoyed the free massage, haircutting and pedicure sponsored by the Joji Ilagan Career Center Foundation Incorporated, and Asian Wellness and SPA Academy Alumni Association.

The activity is our tribute to all kasambahays who work very hard to ensure the provision of quality service to their employers. In every success of your employers, the kasambahays are always part of it. We hope that this activity will give you a moment of joy and happiness” Assistant Regional Director Atty. Jason P. Balais told the participants.

Other highlights of the activity were the parlor games, Zumba session and consultation on kasambahay benefits with the different agencies like SSS, PhilHealth and HDMF.  DOLEXI/Jun Roble
