DAVAO CITY Consistent with its directive to provide labor and employment education to multi-sectoral stakeholders, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI revved the human resource (HR) practitioners, officers and designates from the various Hotel and Restaurant Industries in the region during the conduct of the 3rd Human Resource Practitioners and DOLE Forum via Zoom on April 29, 2021.

A total of 74 HR Practitioners representing 70 different establishments participated in the event.

The forum sought to attain insight and discuss the latest issuances and guidelines on national health insurance and tax updates from the PhilHealth XI and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) XI respectively. Moreover, the said event  served as a platform to clarify matters on the flexible working arrangement pursuant to DOLE guidelines  especially in this time of pandemic.

DOLE XI Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo spearheaded the conduct of the forum. “As part of our support to the industry, we would like to help you be equipped with knowledge and information and to bring better relationships between your employer and your assigned designates as part of your stewardship,” RD Domingo emphasized in her opening remarks. 

Remarkable resource speakers were invited from DOLE, PhilHealth XI and BIR XI to shed light on the latest issuances and recent updates from their respective offices. DOLE XI Regional Labor Standards Focal Ms. Sonia M. Delfin led the discussion. Afterwards, Mr. Ruel John R. Sencio, Marketing Officer of PhilHealth XI and Ms. Andre Fhe Cinco-Tusoy, Revenue Officer III of BIR XI, shared updates and latest issuances through their comprehensive presentations.

In his closing remarks, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy expressed his grateful appreciation to the participants and commended the speakers’ efforts in delivering their presentations. “Despite the difficult times brought by this pandemic, we’re still able to celebrate and make this event possible. Not only we learn from this but we live what we learn from this event.”

Remarkable objectives of the monthly conduct of the Human Resource Practitioners and DOLE Forum are to draw more participants coming from different industries, to channel relevant information and knowledge to them, and to establish better collaboration with our stakeholders.
