Davao City- In order to equip and strengthen the Guidance Counselors and Career Advocates in the region, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI has recently conducted a capacity building activity on April 12 and 13 at Seda Hotel.

The two-day capacity building activity mainly focused on “Introducing the Basics of Emotional Freedom Techniques in creating Positive Team Synergy.”

Opening the program was DOLE XI Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante who greeted and thanked all the participants in their continued effort in supporting the Department.

“You, Guidance Counselors and Career Advocates have been playing the key role in meeting the developmental needs of these students, including those differently-abled ones,” Director Agravante said.

The invited guest speaker for the activity was Dr. Gina Lamzon from Ateneo de Davao University.

Career Guidance Advocacy Program or CGAP is a DOLE program that targets graduating students through guiding them on what courses to take in line with the demands of the labor market to avoid job-skills mismatch. This is done by DOLE in close partnership with the school guidance counselors and career advocates.
