To cap off the celebration of the Women’s Month for March, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI has recently conducted a Forum on Women’s Rights to some of its women stakeholders in Davao Region.

The forum was held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Seda Hotel and was participated by 50 women representatives coming from different establishments in the region.

DOLE XI Regional Gender and Development Program Focal Melanie R. Jadulang explained that this activity serves as an avenue to update and inform women stakeholders of their rights especially at work.

Topics covered for the forum included orientations on Department Orders 178 and 184 which concerns wearing high heels at work and long sitting periods; Rights of Women with Disability; Magna Carta for Women (RA 9710); Maternity leave; Parental Leave for Solo Parents; and Leave for victims of VAWC.

Speakers include DOLE XI Labor Laws Compliance System Focal Person Sonia M. Delfin, and DOLE LLCO’s Senior Labor and Employment Officers Julieta J. Aguilar and Ma. Cecilia M. Dayhon. Arris P. Medrano, PWD Focal Person from the Department of Social Welfare and Development was also present during the activity as guest speakers.

Other than the forum, the participants were also entertained during the ice breaker sessions and the raffle draws.
