Pantukan, Compostela Valley – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI successfully conducted the 2019 PESO Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA) with close to a hundred participants from the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) and Job Placement Offices (JPOs) in the region. Presented during the activity were accomplishment reports, issues, concerns, and other relevant information such as the following:
REFERRED AND PLACEMENT. These indicators are used to monitor how frequent is the office in referring applicant’s job placement to hiring agencies and companies through office or online applications. Through these referrals, human resource recruiters may determine those applicants who are best qualified for placement based on criteria such as education, skills, and work experiences. As of second quarter of 2019, DOLE XI had already referred 68,759 applicants or 94.94% of the targeted 72,420 jobseekers to several companies and agencies. Apparently, 61,911 (90.04%) applicants were already placed for wage employment.
LABOR MARKET INFORMATION (LMI). Every year, DOLE XI is targeting a certain number of individuals for orientation on the labor market trends and information in the regional or at the national level. These individuals may be students or jobseekers from the region. In June 2019, the Davao Region has already reached 97,993 individuals with LMI through Career and Employment Seminars. This accomplishment is equivalent to 94.53% of the 103,664 targeted individuals this year.
SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF STUDENTS (SPES). This program aims to assist poor but deserving students and out-of-school youths intending to pursue education by encouraging employment during summer, Christmas Vacation or any time of the year for students in the tertiary, technical, or vocational level. For second quarter of 2019, DOLE XI has already assisted and placed 6,019 SPES beneficiaries in several companies and agencies.
