More than 200 players and participants from the different Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) island teams have joined the 1^st Leg of the DOLE Wide Interisland Sportsfest last October 26-28, 2017 at D’Leonor Inland Resort here in Davao City.

The first leg of the activity was hosted by DOLE XI headed by Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante welcomed the participants.

The three-day activity was graced by no less than Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III together with other DOLE Senior Officials.

Four island teams are competing for the sportsfest namely NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Sports events include Basketball for men and Volleyball for women. A tee off golf session was also held with the Secretary Bello together with other DOLE Senior Officials at Palos Verdes during the second day of the activity.

DOLE Mindanao Team advances

For the Basketball men the Mindanao Island Team won on Game 4 versus Luzon Island team where they won by 5 points scoring 80 – 75. The same goes for volleyball on game 1 where they won versus Luzon with 2 out of three sets.

The DOLE Wide Interisland Sportsfest is in line with the upcoming celebration of the DOLE Anniversary on December 8, 2017. After Davao, the second leg will be held at Iloilo on November and the final leg will be in Manila in December.
