Davao City – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI officials and staff join together to do the duck, cover, and hold position in its participation during the conduct of the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

With Davao City as one of the key areas chosen by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), DOLE XI headed by Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante joined the drill execution at 2 p.m. that day.

Director Agravante joined other directors and heads of offices during the opening program at University of Mindanao in Bolton Street, the main staging area of NSED in the city while DOLE XI officials and staff back in its Dacudao Avenue Office also conducted the drill execution.

Scenario played was a magnitude 7.0 earthquake from the West Davao Fault Zone which resulted to damages to structures and establishments in the city.

After the execution of the drill, pool of evaluators coming from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Reserve Officers Legion of the Philippines and Kabalikat gave DOLE XI an outstanding rating.

“We are very pleased to join the conduct of the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. Other than doing our daily work in ensuring the safety of our employees in the private sector, we also want to serve as a role model to them in giving importance to disaster preparedness in times of natural calamities,” Director Agravante said.
