Davao City – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI showed its support in promoting the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) by sending seven (7) employee-runners in the “R4R: Run for Resilience” at People’s Park, Davao City on July 7, 2019.

With this year’s theme of “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”, the 3K Fun Run aims to promote the month of July as the National Disaster Resilience Month.

The activity was lead by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) XI, through the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) XI.

The National Disaster Resilience Month Celebration is in line with the signing of Executive Order No. 29 renaming the month of July as the National Disaster Resilience Month from National Disaster Consciousness Month. This aims to change the perspective from disaster awareness building to disaster resilience. (Chelsi Mika T. Tabenas, AA VI, IMSD, DOLE RO XI)
