To further address the problem of job mismatch among the youth in the country, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI is set to launch the Career Week Celebration 2017.

The Career Week Celebration is part of the Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP) implemented by the CGAP Working group composed of DOLE, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Department of Education (DepEd).

For this year’s Career Week Celebration, the Career Ambassadors will be from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The 2017 Career Week Celebration will kick-off on July 17, 2017 at Calinan National High School in Davao City. This will be followed by the celebration launchings at Mati School of Arts and Trade, Davao Oriental on July 18; Baganga National High School, Davao Oriental on July 19;  Tacul National High School, Davao del Sur on July 20, 2017, Pantukan National High School, Compostela Valley Province on July 21; Fishing Village Comprehensive National High School, Davao Occidental on July 24, and at Panabo National High School, Davao del Norte on July 25.

Conducted annually, the said program aims to guide the students in making career decisions by providing knowledge and creating awareness about the labor market.
