Panabo City, Davao del Norte – A total of 42 Nego Karts (Negosyo sa Kariton) has been turned over by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI to the Panabo City Night Market Association (PCNMA) members through its DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program or DILEEP.

The blessing and turnover of the Nego  Karts was held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 which was led by DOLE XI Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao and DOLE-Davao del Norte Field Office Chief Erlinda D. Mamitag together with Panabo City Mayor James G. Gamao, City Councilor Renante F. Bangoy and the Panabo City Public Employment Services Office.

Night market vendors under the association which has 42 members were granted with a total of P420,000 for their negokarts under DILEEP.

PCNMA President Rosievie Agripo, during the ceremony thanked the Department and those who helped them in making the project possible.

Nalipay kaayo ko sa mga cart nga inyong gipanghatag sa amoa karon kay bisag ginagmay lamang kami nga mga maninindahay nga nanginabuhi kaning food cart it will give us a chance for our lives kay mao na siya ang among ginakuhaan sa tanan namong panginahanglan sa matag-usa na naa diri na naay mga pamilya (I am very happy with this carts that you have given to us who are merely small street vendors because this will give us a chance as this carts are our primary source of living),” Agripo said.

Director Joffrey M. Suyao, in his message during the event, encouraged the members of the association to continue their team work for the continued improvement of their negokarts.

“Kami nagatuo nga ang gamay nga hinabang sa Department of Labor and Employment, gamay man kung tan-awon ninyo kani pero nag hinaot kami nga mapa-lambo ninyo kini sa mga sumusunod na panahon (We believe that even though this may be a small help from the Department of Labor and Employment but we hope that you will make this prosper in the future),” Director Suyao said.

He also added that through this assistance more jobs can be created for the informal sector.
