Tugbok, Davao City – The Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region recently joined farmers’ association during the launching of its water refilling station project.
The Smileys Farmers Association, with 61 members, launched its water refilling station named Aqua de Smiley at Biao Escuela, Tugbok, Davao City.
The Association chose this project since this is the first and only water refilling station that provides affordable drinking water to residents of Barangay Biao, Escuela and its neighboring barangays.
DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said, “we are grateful that we’re able to provide assistance to the association and their community, most especially that potable water is a basic need that every community must have access to.”
DOLE Davao City Field Office assisted the association through provision of Equipment and Materials while the association secured the materials and labor for building construction as their counterpart.
DOLE Davao Assistant Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy said, “this project will surely open pathways of opportunity not just to the project beneficiaries but also to nearby barangays.”
