Jobseekers from the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) can now access the JobSearch Kiosk as RD Joffrey M. Suyao leads the launching and turn-over to the local government on September 7.
The JobSearch Kiosk is an information portal designed by DOLE to provide information on employment and livelihood opportunities for free. With the updated JobSearch Kiosk jobseekers may now search and apply for local or government job opportunities, register and post their skills, job matching, and get updates on other employment-related information. Also with its features more users can be accommodated, aside from jobseekers, employers and those who want career advancement the kiosk can be of use.
The kiosk may serve different purposes for its users. During the turn-over, RD Suyao explained the types of information the users may get from the kiosk. For Jobs or Livelihood seekers: they can view job vacancies posted in the Phil-JobNet both local and overseas; list of licensed recruitment agencies for local and overseas employment; regional wage rates; TESDA Accredited Assessment Centers; and livelihood guides provided by the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns. Employers may view: list of jobseekers with different skills, list of TESDA-Certified Workers; and verification of professional licenses by the PRC. And for those who want career advancement they may use the kiosk for: list of schools accredited by CHED; information on sets of training provided by TESDA; occupational information developed by DOLE; and information on OWWA services for OFW member and dependents.
In Davao Region, six JobSearch Kiosks were already deployed in key cities and municipalities of Panabo and Tagum Cities in Davao del Norte, Digos City in Davao del Sur, Nabuturan in Compostela Valley and Davao City Hall.
Additional five kiosks will be deployed in other key areas of the region.
