Davao City – The Department of Labor and Employment conducted a seminar on K to 12 DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (AMP) Implementation. It was participated in by Human Resource Officers including representatives from Higher Education Institutions in the region. Highlight on the seminar was the discussion on the scope and coverage of K to 12 DOLE AMP and the youth employment programs.

In his welcome message, DOLE XI TSSD OIC-Chief Paul V. Cruz suggested to the organizers that, “The  new issuances on the Department Circular 01 Series of 2019 other known as the Guidelines on the Issuance of DOLE Certification as a Requirement for Application for Payment of Unemployment Insurance or Involuntary Separation Benefit, Department, the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act or the Republic Act No. 11261, be included in the orientation.”

 Ms. Erika Jil Diaz, K to 12 Regional Program Technical Staff presented the K to 12 DOLE AMP’s timeline of program policies covering the reported displacement nationwide. Ms. Diaz stressed that, “Multi-year low enrolment was anticipated due to the absence of college student enrollees in Academic Year 2016-2017. The program serves as a social protection program that provides would-be displaced and displaced HEI personnel in the transition period an integrated package of assistance which includes a) Financial Support amounting to Php 10,000.00 or 75% of the last gross salary or the prevailing median salary in the region, whichever is highest; b) Employment Facilitation and c) Training and Livelihood.”

Mr. Marlito D. Ayala , DOLE XI Regional Focal on Employment presented the Labor Market Information. He shared a brief discussion about the Government Internship Program (GIP), National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) and Special Program of Employment Students (SPES).

 Mr. Dan Louie D. Mejos, Regional Focal on SPES (Special Program for the Employment of Students), ended the activity by presenting the Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP). The activity was held on August 13, 2019 at the DOLE XI Activity Hall. (By Eduardo P. Monreal, LCO-Designate, DOLE RO XI)
