Davao City – The Kalayaan 2019 Job and Business Fair was successfully held on June 12, 2019 at the NCCC Mall Buhangin, Davao City. Participating employers were 50 for local and 17 for overseas. Job vacancies offered were 4,522 for local and 2,971 for overseas. Top ten on the list of vacancies were customer service representatives, laborers, promotional demonstrators/ brand specialists / merchandisers, technical support representatives, mechanical helpers, cashiers, mechanical equipment installers, baggers/ counter checkers, mechanical erectors, service crews, production workers and fitters for local employment.

For overseas, top ten on the list included cleaners, staff nurses (ICU, NICU, PICU, OR, general nurses & clinic nurses – females), cashiers, waiters/ waitresses, female staff nurses, furniture installers, assemblers, juice makers, personal trainers, english teachers – male & female for China and Japan, pipe fitters, meat inspectors – male and female for Australia, visual merchandisers and kitchen helpers. Hired On The Spot (HOTS) were as follows: Local – 102 (43 males, 59 females), Overseas – 95  (29 males, 66 females). As of this writing, more applicants are submitting requirements to get the jobs they are applying.

For skills training, the Department of Trade and Industry XI offered the Fabric Conditioner and Liniment Making and Liquid Soad and Detergent Making. A group of DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Beneficiaries exhibited their products in celebration of independence day. To process the requirements needed by the jobseekers, national and local government agencies joined the fair which include the PNP, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, POEA, LGU Davao and PSA.
