Davao City. – The signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI and its partners namely the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) XI, Gaisano Mall of Davao, ABS-CBN Regional Davao, People’s Television Network (PTV), Interface Computer College, and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Davao City on April 22, 2019 officially marked the start of the 2019 Labor Day activity called “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair” with the theme, “Pagpupugay sa Manggagawang Pilipino”.

The press conference started with an open statement from Atty. Jason P. Balais, DOLE XI OIC-Asst. Regional Director. He informed the media on what to expect during the pre-registration and mini job fair on April 26-30 and in the big event of the fair on May 1-2, 2019.

DOLE XI ARD Balais announced that there will be 59 (Local) and 20 (Overseas) employers that will participate in the job fair which will offer 3,045 local job vacancies and 3,563 overseas job vacancies, and that of the 6,608 total job vacancies, Top 10 for overseas are Nurses (ICU, NICU, PICU, General Nurses & Clinic Nurses), Cleaners, Teacher Assistants, Waiters/Waitresses, Female On-Call Cleaners, Sales Associates, Welders, Service Crew, Household Service Workers and Manicurists/Pedicurists while Top 10 for local are Carpenters, Masons, Production Crew, Customer Service Representatives, Service Crew, Sales Associates/Clerks/Promo, Field Collection Officers, Mechanics, Drivers and Electricians.

Atty. Balais urged the media to help disseminate the activity so that many jobseekers in Region XI can be employed and those who are interested in livelihood can avail of the seminars and trainings that will be conducted by its partner the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) XI. /By Eduardo P.
