Davao City — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) officially opened the One-Stop Shop Center for OFWs (OSSCO) in Davao City last Friday, August 11, 2017.

The grand opening and blessing of OSSCO was graced by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, James Gaisano, Davao Second District Representative Mylene J. Albano, DOLE XI Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante, Assistant Regional Director Evelyn R. Ramos and the Regional Directors of the OSSCO participating agencies and the OFW Community representatives.

“As President Rodrigo Duterte had clearly enunciated we are bringing these services closer to the people in order to lessen the burden on our OFWs in securing the necessary documents they need to work abroad. This is among the ways by which government can pay back their enormous contribution to our economy,” Secretary Bello said in his speech.

The OSSCO in Davao City is the 14th OFW center in the country and it aims to bring the frontline services of the government in one place to make it more accessible to OFWs or to those who plan on working overseas.

The OSSCO houses 15 agencies including, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-Ibig), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

OSSCO will be open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10AM to 7PM.
