Looking for job? This might just be for you.

The government has opened an enhanced employment portal in cyberspace via Phil-Job.net for Filipino job seekers and employers looking for skilled Filipino manpower.

“This is the brainchild of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to pool the nation’s available manpower and the employers looking for them through a modern venue – the cyberspace,” said DOLE Davao regional director Joffrey M. Suyao.

Suyao said that internet is the information highway where  job-seekers spend a number of hours with and it might just be high time the Philippine government join in the wagon, “this time providing a better and improved services.”

“The Department is exhausting all possible efforts to assist our kababayans to find decent employment. More that the quantity of jobs we also value the quality of jobs the Filipino manpower are placed,” Suyao added.

Labor and employment secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz, for her part, encourages job-seekers to be true, accurate and current in the information and data they provide on Phil-job.net website.

“Provide prospective employers true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself and about your abilities,” Baldoz said.

“It would be helpful if the applicant or job seeker can also provide in their online registration a comprehensive summary of experience, training and skills, factors that employers highly consider,” she added.

“To promote the efficient use of the system in the region, we have set orientation schedules among our provincial offices and the local government units and school-based Public Employment Service Offices (PESO),” Suyao explained.

“We also encourage our prospect employers to enroll in the system, post their job vacancies and hire or “meet” prospective employees,” he added.

Department Order 133-13 issued late last year, has ensured that a system will be put in place to protect job-seekers from fraud, deceitful and illegal recruitment.

“Let’s make good use of our modern technology. Using the Phil-Job.net is easy and convenient to both job-seeker and prospect employers,” he added.

Aside from job vacancies, the website also features statistics on top skills needed, top vacancies, as well as jobs from its partner websites.
