The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board (RTWPB) XI conducted trainings with participants from the Retail and Service Industry and the Manufacturing Industry last August 7-8, 2017 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.

­The Training on Retail Service Visual Merchandising in Davao Region which was held last August 7, 2017 was conducted to assist firms from retail and service industries to be familiar with the Retail Service Merchandising and Visual Merchandising module which is a newly enhanced training module by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) and RTWPB.

The said training is about productivity improvement program that ensures effectiveness of retail space usage, proper cross merchandising (adjacent products), improvement of store image and branding and the setting up of promotional aisles. The objectives of the training were to identify the steps involves in the ‘Selling Process’, explain the Principles of Merchandising and Visual merchandising and adopt security measures to prevent causes of stock losses.

On August 8, 2017 the Training on Lean Management in Davao Region with the title, “Lean Management Training: Slim is In” was also conducted. The said training was conducted to assist firms from the manufacturing industry in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their process through lean management. Benefits of Lean Management to companies were also discussed during the training.

The trainings were conducted by Ms. Ma Rosa Opis and Mr. Francis Atangan from the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

The participants and guest speakers were welcomed by Dir. Raymundo G Agravante, the Board Chairman of RTWPB-XI.
