DAVAO CITY – On August 10, 2021, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-XI held the awarding ceremony for the nine (9) regional winners of the 2021 Productivity Olympics. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awarding ceremony was done online via the zoom application.
The nine (9) establishments that were awarded during the ceremony are as follows: Alta Pension House (Micro Service Category); Coffee for Peace, Inc. (Small Service Category); MS3 Agri-Ventures Corp. (Small Agribusiness Category); Davao Toplas Inc., DAVECO Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative, Manuel Guianga and Sirib Growers and Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (MAGSIGE MPC) – Garments Business, R.O. Each of the establishments received P10,000.00 cash price, a trophy, and certificate of recognition. The regional winners will be representing the Davao Region in the 2021 National Productivity Olympics and compete with the winners from other regions.
Productivity Olympics is a national competition held every two years and organized by the National Wages and Productivity Commission which aims to recognize successfully implemented productivity improvement programs and best practices of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the agribusiness, service and industry sector. However, for this years’ competition, taking into consideration the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the MSMEs, a new criteria was adopted. Specifically, this years’ Productivity Olympics with the theme “Bounce Back Better” aims to recognize establishments that have demonstrated resilience and steadfastly overcome difficulties to reach their targets, sustain growth and contribute to economic recovery and preserved employment.
“May the Productivity Olympics inspire more entrepreneurs to rise up to the challenges of today’s highly challenging business environment to achieve sustainability and growth”, said RTWPB-XI Board Chairperson and DOLE-XI OIC-Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy.
This is the very first time that the awarding ceremony was held virtually. Also present during the ceremony were RTWPB-XI Vice Chairperson and DTI-XI Regional Director Maria Belenda Q. Ambi and RTWPB-XI Vice Chairperson and NEDA-XI Regional Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim.
