The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board- XI in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment–XI conducted the Productivity Enhancement Program for DOLE Livelihood Beneficiaries on March 23, 2015 at the My Hotel, San Pedro St., Davao City.

A total of thirty-six participants from thirteen associations and cooperatives participated in the productivity training program which covers basic productivity concepts, basic practices of good housekeeping, simple stock control, simple bookkeeping, and basic business ethics.

As part of the training, the participants were engaged in group exercises to enable them to better understand the concepts and to demonstrate their skills in the preparation of stock card, income statement and cash flow.

To provide the participants a general perspective of workplace safety and health, Mr. Mario Senajon, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE-XI, gave a presentation on the Occupational Safety and Health Program of DOLE.

Ms. Marijoe M. Labador, Treasurer of Matina Pangi Unified People for Livelihood Association, commented that the training has enhanced her knowledge about productivity. On the other hand, Mr. Alched Monpon from the DAVECO Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative noted together with the other participants for the conduct of more productivity trainings in the future.

The productivity enhancement program is a one day capacity building intervention to provide the DOLE livelihood beneficiaries with basic skills on productivity and quality that will enable them to manage their business for sustainability and competitiveness.
