IGACOS – Over a thousand Samaleños received wages for a ten-day job on cleaning public school buildings, grounds and barangay halls and centers, barangay roads, and unclogging canals.

The activity was under DOLE’s TUPAD Program also known as Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers which caters the needs of the displaced workers attributed by floods, typhoons, monsoons, fishing off-seasons and other natural calamities. Working for ten (10) days on a minimum wage would give the beneficiaries temporary relief while they are on recovery stage. The beneficiaries came from forty-six (46) barangays in the three (3) districts of the island, namely: Samal, Babak and Kaputian.

The payout was facilitated by DOLE IGACOS Satellite Office headed by Francis Dominique Y. Nazario in partnership with Samal PESO Office headed by Florencio Thaddeus Valera.
