Davao City – As part of our employment facilitation strategy, the Department of Labor and Employment Davao City Field Office recently forged a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Southeastern Philippines for the installation of a new School-based PESO.
Prior to the MOA signing, an orientation on Employment Programs among the heads of the school and the ground breaking ceremony of the new Science building were conducted.
The MOA signing was spearheaded by Dr. Perfecto Alibin, President of USEP and DOLE XI Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao with Davao City Field Office Head Engr. Reynaldo Dennis V. Badilles and Field Office Employment Focal Person Ms. Jovita Fontilla.
Dr. Alibin said that DOLE, our long time partner in employment and livelihood programs has been there to support us and help us reduce employment rate and eventually assist us in the job placement of our graduating students.
Dr. Marcelo Angelia, USEP Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Engr. Angel de Vera, Director, Office of Alumni and Development, Ms. Susan D. Villarente, Director, Office of Student Affairs, Dr. Suphremiano B. Antipolo, Vice-president for research and development, Ms. Emily Madrona, Director, University Guidance and Testing Office with Ms. Lilibeth Pantinople, Davao City PESO Manager and Mark Ventura, Holy Cross of Davao College PESO Manager also witnessed the said signing.
Director Suyao stressed that school-based PESOs have been instituted to assist DOLE in the delivery of employment programs and provide accurate and up to date information that will be useful to address employment issues. He added that USEP will now have the advantage of achieving 100% employability rate of its graduating students and menu of services and programs will be made accessible and available to students through the PESO in schools.
He was pleased that USEP with its officials joined the other partners in implementing the DOLE programs to their students and constituents.
