The search is on for the Best Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI – Assisted Livelihood Project.
Nominees for this year in the group category are: MAGSIGE Multi-purpose Cooperative of Calinan, Davao City for its garments making project; Tagabuli Deboners Association (TADEAS) of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur for its fish cage project; Rehoboth Association of Panabo City, Davao del Norte for its cacao processing project; Callawan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative of New Bataan, Compostela Valley Province for its garments making project; and Southern Development Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental for its cacao processing project. For the individual category, the nominees are: Judith Dela Torre of Padada, Davao del Sur for Negosyo sa Kariton Project; Jerenie Duloyan of Isla Lawis, Toril, Davao City for Fishing Project; and Mary Ann Miel of Pantukan, Compostela Valley for Negosyo sa Kariton Project.
The awards aim to provide due recognition to individuals and organizations who successfully managed their projects, contribute employment and provide additional income to their members.
Winners of the said search will be announced on July 28, 2017 at Sunny Point Hotel in Maa, Davao City during the Informal Sector Summit. The Regional Winners will represent DOLE Region XI in the upcoming National Search for Best DOLE – Assisted Livelihood Project for 2016.
It can be recalled that during the 2015 DOLE search for the Best Livelihood Implemented Project two of the National winners were from Davao Region namely Sheryl Monroid from the Municipality of Padada in Davao del Sur who won first place for the Individual Category for her Negosyo sa Kariton and Artes de San Vicente from Davao City who won second place for the Group Category for bags and garments making.
