Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III led the inauguration of the seven-storey building of the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office XI, situated at Quimpo Blvd., Matina Crossing, Davao City, on April 7, 2022.

Sec. Bello took the opportunity to thank the Huang Family, represented by Mrs. Lolita Huang, for donating the 350 square meters lot where the building stood. The Secretary also recognized the efforts and assistance of the Office of Asec. Mariano R. Alquiza for the realization of the edifice.

The construction of the DOLE Regional Office XI Building started in 2018 and was granted with Php 100 million fund by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

In his message, DOLE XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy acknowledged the commitment and dedication of previous DOLE XI leaders, the Building Construction Committee, and DPWH XI headed by Engr. Richard Ragasa for bringing said project from the concept stage to reality. “As we move forward, we should remember the most important part of any building that brings life to it – the people. I hope that this building may not only be seen as a solid foundation, but a symbol of hope and solidified future for the community,” RD Pensoy added.

The building will accommodate the Office of the Regional Director, Mediation-Arbitration Unit, Internal Management and Services Division, and Technical Services and Support Division. The inauguration was attended by employees belonging to said offices, led by RD Pensoy and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Jason P. Balais, and the provincial heads of DOLE XI Field Offices.

The event was graced by Usec. Renato L. Ebarle, Usec. Randy B. Escolango, Usec. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, Dir. Ma. Karina Perida-Trayvilla, Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Asec. Mariano R. Alquiza, partners from DPWH Davao City District Engineering Office, RC Melgazo Builders, L.A. Arizola Construction and Supply, LV Ledesma Construction, Inc., Davao Light and Power Company, Regional Coordinating Committee, Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, City Government of Davao, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board XI, Commission on Audit, members of the Huang Family.

Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Gonzaga of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church officiated the blessing of the building. The event started with ribbon cutting rites, unveiling of the dedication plaque and ended with a fellowship lunch shared by DOLE Officials and employees.### MFKM
