Mati City, Davao Oriental – Eleven (11) Motor Drivers’ Associations in ten (10) barangays are recipients of One Million (P1,000,000.00) Pesos livelihood grant from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI. The money is intended for the proposed project of carwash, vulcanizing and motor parts shop in the said barangays.

The grant was released to its project proponent, the Tarragona LGU of Davao Oriental through Municipal Mayor Nestor L. Uy. When asked on the project, Mayor Uy said, “Mostly in the barangays, motorcycle is the means of transportation. This project will not only give additional income to the members of all drivers’ associations in the barangays but also delivers the basic services to the riding public in their respective areas.” He ended by saying, “The beneficiaries of this project is around one hundred fifty (150) members of these associations.” (By Eduardo P.
